I live in the South Dublin suburb of Cabinteely. My life's a gentle meander - most of the time - through school runs, walking the dog, a bit of baking, coffee mornings with the girls, a bit of gardening, the mandatory housework, some freelance writing, cooking, editing the parish newsletter and reading. In other words a suburban life rooted in my community.

It wasn't always thus. I've had various jobs, from charity PR officer through travel agent to computer teacher - all positions in which I was more or less paid to talk. I still love to talk, and I suppose it is the lack of audience in the burbs, combined with a fear of turning into Shirley Valentine, which has led me to write more. I discovered blogging earlier this year and absolutely love being able to share my thoughts online.

I've got a healthy interest in celebrity goings-on and love catching up on lives that are so completely different from my own. Not that I would swap mine, of course - well not forever, and not at the moment! But who knows what the future holds?
