Cheryl Cole celebrated her birthday last night by running out and about in a £4k dress from Alexander McQueen. Now we just have to shake our finger here and request a redress. Let's start from the beginning. What came first, the chicken or the egg? Do we blame the designer for creating the dress or the celebrity for choosing to wear it? And I did wonder if in fact it was the dress or the body that make this a fashion disaster.
Cheryl Cole has long had a body that women everywhere covet. She is absolutely stunningly gorgeous and can pull off most clothing easily. But when you are quite, err, "chesty", you have to be selective in what you wear. I can't help but think that McQueen would have designed this dress to be worn by a woman that is, shall we say, less gifty in the upper regions (Gwyneth would look amazing in this dress- note to her stylist!). Cheryl's assets take away from the design of the dress completely.
When I first saw this picture I thought it was surely a mistake. The dress goes from elegant couture to not quite sure in 3.2 seconds flat. However, everyone makes mistakes and fashion mistakes are made every second. I'll be on the lookout for a fast recovery from this fashion disaster.
