As someone who calls sunny Australia home, for me the lives of royals hold a particular and ongoing fascination. We're still - to date - part of the British Empire, and continue to pay allegiance to the Queen of England as our head of state. We can also lay claim to our very own royal in Princes Mary, a Tasmanian lass who became a member of the Danish royal family upon her marriage to Prince Frederik. Somehow though the lives of foreign monarchs seem so foreign, so fairytale, a series of occasions to dress up and wear a tiara. My hobbies include checking the mail and trying to con myself it's fun to cook - so you can see why blogging about the high-jinks of royal families makes for a wonderful escape from reality!
