Oh how I adore Royal Ascot! Glam royals, fabby outfits, and - this year at least - glorious sunshine! I picked out my beautiful cream straw Philip Treacy hat months ago, and was positively overjoyed when I saw I was in regal company in doing so. In the royal enclosure Eugenie, Bea and Zara were all wearing creations by the Irish genius, too. Very reassuring.

In fact I managed to score a fashion double with my satin wildflower print Stella McCartney shift dress. Two of the summer's top style trends in one! Must say I feel like the cat who got the cream today.

Of course the highlight of Ascot is yet to come. Tomorrow it's Ladies Day, and I'm more excited than a kiddy at Christmas at the prospect of all the celeb and fashion spotting I'm going to be doing. As for my outfit, I'm keeping it strictly under wraps - but I will say that my hat is a real eye catcher. I'm under strict instructions from Mother to tape all the TV coverage so I can try and spot myself when the day's over!
