According to his MTV Awards speech Johnny Depp thinks he's not a funny guy. What!? Is this the same Johnny who had me in stitches in the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies, and decided to change his 'Winona Forever' tattoo to 'Wino Forever' after his romance with the actress played itself out?

Is he saying that all that humorous charm is simply an act? He's got the credentials to pull that feat off - three Oscar nods, a Golden globe a Screen Actors Guild etc - but I really hope he's not just putting it on. I can't think of him as anything other than the full package - handsome, funny, talented, caring, kind, perfect, dashing, gorgeous... oh, did I mention handsome already?

On a more sombre note, I can't sign off today without saying how desperately sad I was to hear about the death of the incredible Yves Saint Laurent. A tortured soul by all accounts, but a towering talent, too. He explored that whole Girl Power thing long before the Spices had even spotted that girl band ad. He revolutionised women's fashion and made the female tux a thing of seduction forever. Where would we have been without him?
