I must admit that Lily Allen has totally gone up in my estimation since I heard she's adopted a dog. Sometimes it seems like celebs treat their pets like they're little more than accessories - so it's great to see Lily has clearly given the matter some serious thought before getting herself a furry friend. She made Battersea dogs home her first port of call and has avoided the temptation of going down the familiar eye candy route, choosing instead the mature and slightly plump Honey - who looks a complete sweetie.

Lily's comment about dogs being like their owners did make me laugh. I swear Cavalli has an extra spring in his step when I put on his Gucci dog collar for Sunday afternoon walkies!

I doubt Cavalli and I will cross paths with Lily and her new pet, as they live in Islington, but I just wanted to say congrats on joining the doggy owner club Lily - it's a decision you won't regret!
