I can't believe I won't have Fiona Phillips' upbeat morning banter to help me start my days any more! She's decided to quit GMTV!

I've never been much of a morning person, but a cup of coffee and Fiona's perky attitude always sets me on the right path. Mind you, I can't blame her for leaving. Fifteen years of getting up at 4am certainly doesn't sound like my idea of fun - she's definitely due a few lie-ins! I wonder who they'll get to replace her, though? She'll be a tough act to follow...

And on a different note, how much do I want to get my hands on one of these limited edition Karl Lagerfeld bears? They're brilliant! Mind you, at £750 a pop they might be one non-necessity purchase that even I can't justify buying.

This year's contestants for Strictly Come Dancing are an eclectic bunch, aren't they?

Of course, there's the usual leggy lovelies - Lisa Snowdon, Rachel Stevens, Jodie Kidd - but I was more than a little surprised to learn that newsman John Sergeant will also be dusting off his dancing shoes - if he has any, that is! I can't say I had him down as the spangly trousers-wearing type, but perhaps he's been keeping his talent under wraps while reporting from Westminster all these years. You never know!

Either way, I can't wait for it all to kick off. Roll on September!

I was so excited to hear Nicole Kidman is going to be calling the British capital home for the coming months. I wonder where she's looking at rental properties. It would be so great if Cavalli and I bumped into her and Sunday Rose taking a stroll around Chelsea.

With Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Dame Judi and Marion Cotillard in the same London-set film, the prospect of international film-spotting has never been better. I shall certainly be keeping my eyes peeled!

It was really interesting to see her new movie Nine is another big screen version of a Broadway musical. Looks like the success of Mamma Mia has sparked a trend. I wonder what's next... We Will Rock You would make an amazing movie.

Not that I'd be anything other than eyes peeled during New York Fashion Week anyway, but this year there'll be added interest when the shows kick off on September 5. Victoria Beckham will be presenting her first ever couture collection!

I can't wait to see what she comes up with. Coming from a woman who has top designers on speed dial, plus an amazing sense of style herself, it's sure to be something to write home about.

Hats off to Posh for taking her fashion career seriously. She could have easily have rested on her pop laurels and just focused on her jeans and sunglasses range. Branching out into the fiercely competitive world of high-end couture is a bold move, and one I'd love to see her succeed in.

I'm really not sure what to make of Katie's latest fashion move. According to a spokesperson she's wearing Tom's jeans... Is that achingly hip or a little off the satirical mark? I can't deny that by teaming the look with a fedora she does pull it off to a certain extent. Maybe I'm just not used to seeing her in baggy clothes...

I was also a little thrown trying to place those denims. Tom's just about as clean-cut as they come, even when in casual mode - and as far as I can recall, unlike his pal Becks, he doesn't really 'do' scruffy. Of course he may have just kept them for hanging out in at home, although they're also rolled up quite a bit which has me wondering if this little sartorial venture hasn't been given a little 'spin'.

I like celebs. I love animals. So you can very well imagine my delight when I saw the Pet Pawtraits calendar today. How adorable! I simply must get one.

You can tell a lot about people's personalities from their pets, I think - so how interesting that Melinda owns a playful little Shitsu and musician Alex James has a whippet - known for their quiet and calm nature.

Cavalli would have loved to appear in the calendar with all those star pooches. I swear he poses every time I point a camera at him!

Looks like Minnie Driver isn't the only celeb planning to raise a baby without a significant other - Ricky Martin is now a dad to twins. No doubt he really will be Livin' La Vida Loca now he's got not one, but two bouncing babies to look after!

So now he's taking the rest of the year off to focus on his boys. He'll certainly have his work cut out, but it's obviously something he's ready for. And perhaps he can consult fellow latino crooner Marc Anthony for top tips on being a dad of twins. Or even phone Brad Pitt for a few pearls of wisdom! In fact, they could all start an A-list daddy club and trade parenting advice on a regular basis!

Anyway. Good on Ricky, I say. If women like Minnie can go it alone then I don't see any reason why men can't, too.

So Paris Hilton is on the lookout for a new best friend on British shores? That's the best news I've heard in ages. Don't want to blow my own trumpet, but I think I'd be perfect for the job.

I have a wardrobe of red carpet outfits that would be perfect for glam nights out on the town with my favourite socialite and I know all the best hang out places in town. Plus I'm sure I'd have no problems passing the "loyalty and girly politics tests" she plans to put candidates through.

I imagine the competition will be stiff, though. More than 85,000 applied for the job when she was on the lookout for an America-based best pal for her US TV show Paris Hilton's New Best friend. I'd better start brushing up on the girly politics in preparation!

Oh to be Uma Thurman. Seeing those pictures of her and Arki cuddling up in Sardinia today made me turn green with envy. I want to be whisked away to the Med by a handsome multi-millionaire!

I'm not sure what to make of these reports they've already get married, though. Would you really go on your honeymoon with a group of pals for company?

It looks like we might have another famous member of the 'celebrity offspring' clan on our hands, since young Dylan Douglas has decided he wants to be an actor. After all the trouble his parents have taken to keep him out of the limelight, too - bringing him up in the Bahamas and all!

Still, it seems Dylan is quite determined to go about things properly and is even attending acting classes. Which shows he's taking his potential career seriously - there are more than a handful of A-list children out there who decide they're budding actors and actresses before discovering whether or not they have a talent for it.

And I'm sure Oscar-winning Michael and Catherine will have more than just a few tips to offer their ambitious son!

What on earth is going on in celeb land with romances these days? First Sienna's on-off, are-they-or-aren't-they dalliance with Balthazar and now Kelly and Billy have split for the second time!

Her mum says they're definitely over. And apparently this time it's for good. Is this really the end though? I'll be watching with interest to see what happens next...

Kelly certainly had the right idea jetting off to Saint Tropez with her girlfriends, though. Nothing better to perk you up than a few days spent lounging in the sun with your pals.

Paul seems like such a down to earth chap despite his millions and superstar status. And the way they were both helping to carry their hand luggage at Heathrow this week made them look like any other couple. I wonder if their London trip was so he can introduce Nancy to his children?

I'm so pleased my fave music veteran seems to have found love again - at the age of 66. Just makes me think there's no reason to rush these kind of things - that someone special could come knocking at any point in your life.

Wow, just when I thought Peaches couldn't surprise me anymore she's gone and got married in Vegas. I didn't see that one coming!

Last time I checked she was madly in love with that guy from The Horrors - and now, suddenly, she's Mrs Drummey - after exchanging vows with American Indie rocker Max in The Little White Wedding Chapel - where Britney's 55-hour marriage to her childhood pal Jason began.

I can't help but think Peaches probably hasn't thought the whole marriage thing through properly. She's only 19 - and what's more, they've only been together for four weeks. What may have seemed like a fantastic, spur of the moment idea while living it up in Vegas may not seem quite so exciting now she's back at home in London - while her new husband is still in the US on tour with his band.

I couldn't help having a chuckle to myself when I read the story about British Olympic medallist Rebecca Adlington. Now there's a girl after my own heart! How simply fabulous that the thought of some brand new Christian Louboutin heels spurred her on to clinch that gold!

I've always thought of Scarlett as having a wise head on her shoulders, and her comments about her engagement this week really confirm my view. As a young Hollywood princess with the world at her feet, she's so right to be making the most of her 20s, and enjoying being "young and engaged".

With so many stars rushing into marriage and splitting up when they realise it wasn't meant to be, it's refreshing to see someone from that world with such a sensible attitude.

After all, they only just announced their engagement in May after going out for a year. "What's the rush?" seems about right, I think!

I give up trying to follow Sienna Miller's love life. It used to be so simple - her and the lovely Rhys were great together and set to move to Wales to live happily ever after in a secluded farmhouse in the mountains. Or something along those lines, anyway. But now this whole Balthazar romance has made everything a lot, lot more complicated...

One minute they're together, the next they're just pals, then they're an item, then he's gone back to his wife, and now they're spotted shopping together in Malibu looking as loved-up as ever. What on earth is going on?

She's come under fire because of her involvement with the actor and billionaire oil heir, so it's nice to see her friends coming forward to defend her by saying the pair only got together after Balthazar had separated from his wife.

Pink's video for new single So What looks pretty interesting, doesn't it? When she and Carey Hart called time on their marriage earlier this year it all seemed so amicable, with both declaring they were still best friends and still loved each other - quite refreshing for a celeb split, really.

But it looks like that's all changed now, if this video is anything to go by. Carey would have to be very thick-skinned to see the bright side of his ex taking a chainsaw to a love heart with their names on it. And lyrics like "I don't need you and guess what, I'm havin' more fun" have got to hurt. Poor guy. Pink is one feisty lady!

Ooh, I'm very excited about this former high point of Saturday evening British TV making its return. I'm not sure it'll be the same without Cilla, the queen of matchmaking herself, but I have no doubt that I'll be tuning in to check out the revamp.

I had a wonderful holiday on the Spanish island with the girls last year, and having seen these latest pics of gorgeous Leonardo aboard that yacht I'm tempted to book myself a fabulous fortnight of cocktails and sunbathing there again this summer.

Judging by who's been spotted there in the past few weeks, I'd be able to add star-gazing to my list of holiday activities. I can see it now: a late breakfast alongside Monegasque royalty, followed by a (light!) lunch with a top model - maybe Bar Refaeli, she always seems like she'd be up for a good giggle - then a romantic dinner plus cocktails, of course, with the Hollywood hunk du jour...

I wouldn't fancy being in Sienna Miller's shoes right now. I don't know whether to feel sorry for the girl or simply to sigh and file the whole thing away under 'I saw that one coming'.

She must be feeling terrible now Balthazar Getty's gone back to his wife - especially as he hasn't properly ended things with her. I know from experience how difficult it is to move on from someone when things don't work out - even more so when you don't have proper closure.

I just can't help but wonder why she didn't stick with dearly devoted Rhys. She surely would have been much better off - the guy utterly adored her. When they got together I really thought she'd met her life partner.

I wonder what the poor man now makes of all this Balthazar business...

Well done Katie Price. It must have been humiliating to say the least to be refused a ticket to attend the Cartier Polo International last week, but the your response in The Times was a masterpiece of eloquent - and extremely classy - indignation.

The glamour model, successful businesswoman and keen equestrian's articulate plea that "Polo should be for people who love horses, not a media charade. It should be about the sport," made it unequivocally clear where the lack of breeding and courtesy really lies.
