Most of us imagine designers and models as living glamorous, untouchable lives, so it's nice to see Donatella Versace taking time out of her hectic schedule to help earthquake-stricken villagers in China. And it was particular good to see the stylish fashion maven getting stuck in right away on a rocky jeep ride! It really showed her dedication to the trip!

More than that, Donatella clearly wants to take a more hands-on approach to her charity work than simply whipping out the cheque book. I admire how keen she was to interact with the children in the recovery centre she's funding, helping them try to regain a sense of normality by, among other things, playing games. It's exactly such comforting gestures that these kids need in order to start rebuilding their lives.
