So Ulrika Jonsson is the headline celeb for next year's Celebrity Big Brother series? Apparently TV bosses are hoping the thrice-married former weather girl - she has four children by four different fathers - will spill the beans on her past loves, including former England footie coach Sven. In these penny pinching times it must be the thought of such juicy fare which persuaded them to play wild and reckless with the purse strings to offer her a £175,000 fee.

It's not surprising some of her fellow housemates are reported to be unhappy with the bumper pay packet. I can't say I blame them. Ulrika's sum dwarfs the £20,000 offered to boy band member Ben Adams. Still, I suppose Ulrika is arguably the biggest name in the house this year...

Despite this, you won't find me glued to the TV in the New Year. I have to confess I was secretly hoping that following the cancellation of the show last year, Celebrity Big Brother would be disappearing from our screens altogether. Our viewing seems to have been taken over by the same tired old reality shows that are relentlessly rehashed each year and I, for one, think enough is enough!
